Statement Upheld Disabled children 10-Aug-2023
Summary: Mrs X complained the Council did not properly consider her blue badge application for her daughter. We do not find the Council at fault with how it decided to decline her application. There was fault with some delay in responding to her review request. The Council has already apologised for this. This is a sufficient remedy for the injustice.

Statement Upheld Safeguarding 31-Oct-2023
Summary: Ms F complained about the Council’s handling of a safeguarding allegation against her. We found no fault in the process the Council followed to investigate the safeguarding concerns, and it was entitled to reach its view. However, it was at fault for failing to share the outcome of its safeguarding investigation with Ms F and causing delays in its complaints handling. Its apology was enough to remedy the injustice this caused her.

Statement Upheld Domiciliary care 27-Mar-2024
Summary: We will not investigate this complaint about inadequate domiciliary care. Further investigation by the Ombudsman would not achieve a more meaningful outcome as the Council has now agreed to refund Mrs Y’s care charges. It has also provided explanations and apologies, and created an action plan with the care provider.
