Statement Closed after initial enquiries Refuse and recycling 17-Sep-2024

Summary: We will not investigate Mr X’s complaint about the Council’s delay in providing a larger bin. The Council has now delivered the bin and we could not achieve a worthwhile outcome by investigating further.

  • Warwickshire County Council (24 005 016)

Statement Closed after initial enquiries Other 17-Sep-2024

    Statement Upheld Council tax 17-Sep-2024

  • London Travelwatch (24 005 770)

Statement Closed after initial enquiries Public transport 17-Sep-2024

Summary: We will not investigate Mr X’s complaint that London Travelwatch has not properly responded to his concerns about a bus service provided by Transport for London. There is nothing to suggest Mr X has been caused a significant injustice. In addition, further investigation would not lead to a different outcome.

  • London Borough of Barnet (24 005 827)

Statement Closed after initial enquiries Homelessness 17-Sep-2024

Summary: We will not investigate Ms X’s complaint about the Council’s decision that she is not in priority need and its refusal to take a new homelessness application. Ms X had rights of appeal to the county court that it was reasonable for her to use and there is insufficient evidence of fault in the recent decision that it will not accept her new application.

  • Leicester City Council (24 005 910)

Statement Closed after initial enquiries Highway repair and maintenance 17-Sep-2024

Summary: We will not investigate this complaint about the Council’s maintenance of the cul-de-sac where Mr X lives, including work to the grass strip adjacent to his property. This is because there is insufficient evidence of fault by the Council or injustice caused to Mr X to warrant an investigation.

  • London Borough of Havering (23 013 680)

    Statement Not upheld Fostering 16-Sep-2024

Summary: We will not investigate this complaint about the Council’s failure to remove information regarding Mr X from its records. This is because the complaint relates to personal data and is best placed for the Information Commissioner’s officer to deal with.

  • Surrey County Council (23 015 720)

Statement Upheld Special educational needs 16-Sep-2024

Summary: Mrs Y complained about the Council’s delay in delivering the educational provision in her child, Z’s Education, Health and Care Plan. We have found fault by the Council in failing to: arrange the provision within the required statutory timescales; and agree reimbursement of the payments Mrs Y made for provision in the meantime, causing injustice. The Council has agreed to remedy this by apologising, making payments to reflect the impact on Z of the missed provision, upset, frustration and worry caused to Mrs Y, agreeing with and reimbursing Mrs Y for any outstanding provision costs, and making a service improvement.

  • Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council (23 015 801)
