  • Coventry City Council (23 018 020)

Statement Closed after initial enquiries Enforcement 02-Apr-2024

Summary: We will not investigate Mr X’s complaint, brought by Mr Y, about the Council’s consideration of enforcement against some of Mr X’s neighbours’ driveways and vehicle crossovers, and how it handled the complaint. There is insufficient significant personal injustice caused to Mr X by the matters complained of to warrant us investigating. We do not investigate council complaint-handling when we are not investigating the core issue which gave rise to the complaint.

  • Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council (23 018 315)

Statement Closed after initial enquiries Enforcement 02-Apr-2024

Summary: We will not investigate this complaint about the Council breaching an agreement to monitor a hedge to ensure compliance with a Remedial Notice and to publish correct information on its website. The Council confirms it is continuing with annual inspections, the hedge is currently below actionable height and the website is up to date. We do not consider that further investigation will lead to a different outcome.

  • Wigan Metropolitan Borough Council (23 018 664)

Statement Closed after initial enquiries Enforcement 01-Apr-2024

Summary: We will not investigate this complaint about the Council’s decisions not to act against reports of breaches of planning control and noise nuisance. The Council has explained the reasons it will not take action and there is not enough evidence of fault affecting these decisions.

  • Sheffield City Council (23 012 048)

Statement Closed after initial enquiries Enforcement 01-Apr-2024

Summary: We will not investigate this complaint about planning enforcement because there is no evidence of fault by the Council.

  • London Borough of Wandsworth (23 018 443)

Statement Closed after initial enquiries Enforcement 30-Mar-2024

Summary: We will not investigate this complaint about the Council’s consideration of planning enforcement over a breach of planning regulations. It was reasonable for the applicant to appeal against refusal of retrospective planning application to the Planning Inspectorate.

  • Stratford-on-Avon District Council (23 017 771)

    Statement Upheld Enforcement 28-Mar-2024

Summary: We will not investigate this complaint about the Council’s handling of a planning enforcement case and associated planning application. There is not enough evidence of fault in the way the Council reached its decisions on these matters, and it has apologised for failing to update the complainant about what was happening.

  • Colchester City Council (22 017 812)

    Statement Not upheld Enforcement 28-Mar-2024

Summary: Mrs X complained about the Council’s handling of enforcement action against the developer of a site near her home. We have ended our investigation. This is because there is an ongoing planning enforcement investigation, and so it is not possible for us to determine the level of injustice the alleged fault may have caused Mrs X and her neighbours.

  • Thanet District Council (23 017 482)

    Statement Upheld Enforcement 27-Mar-2024

Summary: We will not investigate this complaint that the Council has failed to enforce conditions on a planning permission. The Council has proposed to take action which is a satisfactory way to address the issues raised in the complaint.

  • St Albans City Council (23 017 096)

Statement Closed after initial enquiries Enforcement 27-Mar-2024

Summary: We will not investigate this complaint about the Council’s failure to take action against planning breaches reported by Mr X and about its handling of his complaint about the matter. This is because we are unlikely to find evidence of fault by the Council sufficient to warrant an investigation.

  • Tendring District Council (23 004 570)

    Statement Not upheld Enforcement 26-Mar-2024

Summary: There is no fault by the Council in how it handled planning matters at a development near Mr B’s home.
